GENERAL
What is XTEND?
XTEND Canberra City offers classes for every body and all fitness levels. From Barre, Pilates, HIIT, Suspend (TRX style classes) and more, you can choose the workout that suits you either in-studio or online.
Our classes are dynamic and fast-paced, moving to the beat of the music with a focus on technique and form to ensure you are getting the most out of your workout.
I’ve never worked out before; will I be able to do the class?
Absolutely. Our signature XTEND classes are designed to appropriately challenge all levels of fitness, and ability. Our highly trained instructors will provide modifications and guidance for those who are new to the workout, managing an injury or pre/post-natal, whilst offering progressions for seasoned members.
I’m in great shape, will this workout challenge me?
Classes are tailored to challenge even the fittest members in the class, with modifications offered throughout to ensure everybody is appropriately challenged. With foundations in both dance and Pilates, even the fittest clients finish class having felt even their tiniest muscles activated and fatigued. With a focus on cardio, sculpting and balance, our workout is designed to provide results to all members.
How many days a week should I come to class?
To see results quickly with XTEND (toned muscles, better cardiovascular fitness, improved posture), we recommend taking 3-4 classes per week.
We offer a variety of classes on our schedule that all challenge the body in different ways, so by combining 2-3 of our class types per week, you can get the full body toning, strengthening and cardiovascular challenge needed to see quick and lasting results.
Can I bring a friend with me?
As one of your many membership benefits, you can bring a friend to a class with you for free. The referred person must not have visited the studio within 60 days and the referee must be on an active membership.
Are there any age restrictions to attend XTEND?
Minimum age is 14 years.
If you are 14 to 17 years of age, your parent or legal guardian must:
(a) consent and sign a pre-exercise questionnaire, a waiver and Membership agreement;
(b) accompany you to the Studio on each visit if you are 14 or 15;
(c) accept responsibility to ensure you comply with the Terms and Conditions of the studio and Membership Agreement; and
(d) agree to rectify any breaches of your Membership Agreement.
Do you have an App?

IN STUDIO
When should I arrive for class?
We pride ourselves on starting our classes on time.
If this is your first visit in studio, please arrive 15 minutes before the class starts to receive a proper induction to the studio, your instructor, and the workout you are about to do.
This also gives us the opportunity to learn about you and your fitness routine, your goals, and any health concerns so we can maximise your experience. If you miss this important induction process, you may be asked to reschedule your class as your safety is extremely important to us.
What should I wear and what should I bring?
We recommend that you wear clothing that you feel comfortable to move freely in so you can flow from one pose to another.
Grip socks are compulsory and can be purchased at the studio. Please also bring water and a towel.
All studios have a safe place for clients to store their personal items while in class.
What is the Class Late Cancellation/No-Show Policy?
At XTEND Canberra City, our in-studio class sizes are small and can fill quickly. All clients must adhere to our studio class late cancellation/no-show policy.
If you can no longer attend your class, cancellations must be made no later than 10 hours prior to your class start time (Cancellation period). Cancellations can be made online or via the XTEND Canberra City app.
If you do not cancel or reschedule your class outside of the relevant 10 hour cancellation period or are a no-show/absent from your class, you will either lose your class (casual class/class pack users and Lifestyle/Essential Members) or be charged the $15 Studio Class Late Cancellation/No-Show Fee (XTEND members and Introductory Offer clients).
Studio Class Late Cancellation/No Show Fee: the fee or forfeiture of 1 Studio Class (depending on Membership type), for failing to provide a minimum of 10 hours’ notice of cancellation or for not turning up to a Studio Class.
To cancel a class on the app:
- Sign into your account
- Go to “Class” Tab > “Upcoming”
- Click “Cancel” next to the class you would like to cancel
Will I lose my spot if I am late for class?
Yes. If you are more than 5 minutes late to class, your spot may be lost.
It is important that you arrive on time so you have a proper warm up, a balanced workout, and don’t disrupt the class.
If you are not in the class within the 5-minute window, you may be marked as a late cancel and lose your session and/or incur a Late Cancellation/No-show Fee.
Is there a waitlist for full classes?
Yes, if the class you wish to attend is showing as full, we highly recommend adding yourself to the waitlist. Trust us, it works! You can sign-up for the waitlist up to 10 hours before the class. If a spot opens up, you will receive a confirmation email. If you do not make it off the waitlist, your session will go back into your account for future use.
IMPORTANT: If you are on the waitlist, it is assumed you will be able to attend the class if you get in. If you do not want the spot, you will need to remove yourself from the waitlist at least 10 hours in advance.
